The Interplanetary Defense Organisation Empty
PostSubject: The Interplanetary Defense Organisation    The Interplanetary Defense Organisation I_icon_minitimeFri 30 Dec 2011, 1:49 am

150 years ago, a man named Alexander Thatcher dedicated his life to solving and fixing the many great mysterious that plagued his time, and with the back of the UN, he created the sophisticated secret army of the world. It started as a small operation, using members from the various major powers and combining them into one, functioning unit. Nobody, except for a handful select members of the UN, even knew it existed, and yet, everyone had to respect the unknown force. At its creation, it was known simply as the OSTP, or "Outer Space Threat Prevention". It was founded in the birth of our space era, and its function was simple. Protect Earth from the threats of space. Threats that mearly looked over us for the first thousand years, but once Earth made its first leap into space, we became noticed.

Now, at first, there came few troubles from space, and most of what they ended up dealing with were alien threats that had existed on our planet for years, even centuries. From finding and ancient crashed alien ship in the Pacific, and an old tomb in Egypt that predated humanity by thousands of years. Their discovers helped to advance humanity by leaps and bounds, but they never did much in the way of actually stopping alien invaders for quite some time. However, the time they finally did get to was a time when Earth was made aware of aliens, and the OSTP. Nobody could've foreseen the event, but it left its impact on the planet.

The year was 2015, and the world seemed relatively peaceful for once, well the OSTP were busy with a few small occurrences. They began to notice something though, a strange pattern to many of the more recent events, and the perpetrating aliens seemed to be the same group as well. Sadly though, by the time they had come to a conclusion, it was already to late, and not a week later was the world beset by a nomadic race of aliens who simply referred to themselves as, "The Morning Sun", and their one goal was to do what they always did... Strip the planet of all its resources...

They attacked from a moon sized starbase that connect itself with the planet's gravitation field, and Earth was practically unable to defend against their superior technology. Earth likely would've fallen that year too, if not for the OSTP, who had already dealt with this alien menace before, though not with such high stakes as this. Forced to reveal itself, the group took command of the planet's forces as best they could, and launched a counter-attack. This massive counter-attack was simply a distraction though, as a small group found a way to infiltrate the starbase with the aid of a captured enemy fighter, armed with a nuke. They sacrificed themselves in the end though, having to detonate the bomb before escape was possible, and they managed was to cripple the beast, but cripple it enough to force its retreat. The battle that had taken place on land was costly, but in the end, effective at wiping out the remaining invaders. That day would forever be a world-wide celebration almost, and the event as whole would go down in the history books as "The Dark Morning Crisis".

It was from that moment on that the OSTP took on a new mission of not just protecting the world, but also their entire system from further attack. Of course, there wasn't much they could do with Earth's current technology, though The Morning Sun certainly helped humanity get its space wings. Not even three years later and humanity had already reached out to Mars, and a year after that, made their first colony on a distant planet. The following years saw many advancements in space travel, and with it, the possibilities of a United Earth. Sadly, even with the new found friendliness among the population, people still differed to much to simply band together under one banner. The first colony on Mars had been a group project between the major nations of the world, but ten years after its creation, it found itself under the control of the United States, and with that begin World War III. So much was destroyed during that war, China being nearly blown from the map, the Middle East turned into a water-filled crater, Germany grabbed most of Europe into its fold, and the Americas fell under the control of one flag.

Somehow though, the world wasn't completely destroyed, and the result of the war aided humanity's dreams of space. The remaining powers of the world banded together once again, and doing away with the ineffectual UN, created the CEP, Confederacy for Earth's Protection. The name may not have been the best, but its goal was clear, unite the world into a more collective whole. Still, each Country got to keep its status as an individual, and this did help to keep a sense of nation pride for the world, well the CEP created a new-found Racial Pride. The Human Race. Working with a more togetherness, humanity created its first faster-than-light engine, based somewhat on the designs of The Morning Star's. By this time, even normal starships were fast enough to leave Earth and reach Mars in less than a day. This new engine though allowed a single ship to split itself from this dimension, one could say, and 'cut' through space in a sub-dimension, turning Light Years into simple months. Still though, and even to this day, it is a costly thing that simply couldn't be equipped onto everything.

The year was 2039, the month was July, and the day was the 18th. It was almost 70 years after Neil Armstrong first landed on the moon when the very first ship from Earth reached the star Alpha-Centuri, and set up the very first colony outside of the Solar System. They called this pioneering ship the Santa Maria, in an ironic honor towards Christopher Columbus's flag ship that he rode on when he first found the America's for the old world. Sadly though, it soon became very expensive to keep ships traveling back and forth to the planet, thanks to the energy intensive needs of the Slip Drive. Humanity's next big invention was the Gates, giant space stations with new anti-matter cores, which could connect two planet's with a permanent Slip Space, thus allowing near-instant travel without the massive drain it created on smaller ships, since the Anti-matter generator was far to big for any existing class as well. Each Gate took about a year to make with non-stop building, and with the first duo finished, Humanity could take even deeper steps into the Milky Way.

The following 40 years saw the expansion of the CEP, and the reformation of the OSTP into the IDO, Interplanetary Defense Organisation. The elite force became even more elite, and became known as the backbone of the CEP for a short while. Humanity encountered many planets with life, and a few that even held intelligent life that hadn't yet reached their own space age. The CEP took these intelligent species into its own folds, promising these aliens better lives with them, and a chance to experience the galaxy. Most agreed, but some refused, but even then, the CEP always kept a presence in the system, just in case. Everything seemed so wonderful for the CEP, like nothing could possibly go wrong after all the troubles they had encountered, but some knew better, and some knew that it was only a matter of time before we encountered another space-worthy race. The chance came much sooner then they might've thought.

It was the year 2090, the CEP had a reach that spanned more then 100 worlds, and finally had its own viable defense fleets, which would end up coming in very hand. The planet known as Kepler 22, a massive ball of life with a fairly good population and located in the middle ring of the CEP's influence, came under attack by a strange force of unidentified star-craft. The defenses were able to hold off the could-be invaders, and word spread quickly of this. Not a day after the event, the IDO was on the scene, and their investigations pulled up that the ships that "attacked" the planet held many animal life-forms and building material, and a very noticeable lack of weapons. It was hard to deduce it was a colonization fleet from some yet-unknown intelligent life. A sizable fleet was sent out to defend the system from the almost certain counter-attack that would be coming. Six days after the "First Contact" event, an enemy fleet that numbered 50, almost exactly what the CEP had in place, arrived and attacked. The battle lasted only a few hours, but both sides took heavy loses and the end product could only have been called a draw, even if the attacking force withdrew. Four more battles followed before the "Kepler War" ended, again, in a draw. One of these battles saw an actual battle on the planet itself, where the strange alien race was revealed at last. Large, bipedal reptilian creatures equipped with long, powerful tails and a facial structure like that of a mythical western dragon from our planet. They called themselves "Lrisk Trflia", which in our language would come to mean something along the lines of "Man Lizard". Most people just called them geckos though...

Our two species were able to work out a peace treaty rather quickly, given the lack of knowledge we held for them, and they held for us. Even with that, we both saw that a war between our two peoples wasn't going to get either of us anywhere, especially given how costly each single battle ended up being for both sides. The first five years of the contract were the most tense though, with the space between the Kepler system and the one from which they launched out being something of a demilitarized zone. Slowly though, we began to learn each other's language, and open up more with each other, and soon had trade lanes that existed between our two space based nations. By today, we hold an alliance of true meaning, and actually see each other as an ally, though it took time to reach that point. The people of Kepler 22 still remember what happened 30 years ago though, and still haven't exactly accepted them, which has caused some awkwardness given that Kepler 22 is often the first planet any Lrisk first visit's. We found our two species to be extremely similar in terms of technology and history, though their faster-then-light engine was better then our's, which they called the Hyperdrive. Combining what we knew and what they knew lead to the creation of the what all our ships use today, the Warp Caster, which is now the second best drive-system in the galaxy.

It has been 30 years since we first encountered another space-fairing race, but now we've met many, many others. Some smaller, some unquestionably larger. Many of them seem older then us, well some are almost as fresh to the galactic scene as ourselves, and with this lead to a new style of space politics. The CEP and our ally were quick to join the unifying body simply known as the Galactic Council. A cliched name, and yet, a powerful one for us all. The CEP still doesn't have that much power within it though, but once word got around that it was humanity that damaged the race known as The Morning Sun, it did reflect nicely on us. The pesky nomadic race was very well known throughout then entire galaxy, and every race had some sort of contact with them, though few ever made it out of such dire situations as the one we faced more then 100 years ago.

The IDO itself has already made a nice name as well, some species even calling it "The best commando group in the Galactic Council's space". It is needless to say that everyone knows who the IDO are by now, and everyone has some form of respect for us in a way. Still, there are many terrors and horrors that hide within our galaxy, and the Galactic Council's influence does have its edge as well, so hostilities are well expected, even today. For the Confederacy of Earth's Protection, we are the last line and first line of defense. Though, something lies out there, worse then any of the terrors that exist within our galaxy, something that will require the IDO to go beyond the simple call of duty for our home, something that will have use defending our galactic home. We can only hope we are ready...

The Confederacy of Earth's Protection-

Born from the pact made by the last, and current Super Powers of Earth. The Untied Sates of the Americas, the United Kingdom, the German States, Russia, and Australia. With hope for the future, they banded together and set out to rebuild in space. The CEP works much like the UN did back when it still existed, but now it governs all of the colonial bodies of Earth, plus its main armada. Each country has its own colony's which belong specifically to them, and must be defended by their own navies, but the majority of the colony worlds are under command of the CEP. The ring of influence we have stretches about 150 worlds, plus our ally's, who's ring extends 200 planets outward. Combined though, our ring is noticeably smaller then some of the bigger races, who's ring alone stands out to 1000 plus planets. Still, the CEP is a noticeable force among the galaxy.

Back home on Earth, things a mostly peaceful, but Africa has broken out into full-on war with itself. Most of the populace has moved away to Europe and America, but the remaining ones are locked in a bloody war. The CEP tried their best to help and quell the problem, but attempts so far have been bad. This isn't mentioning how some of the smaller countries are seeking to expand themselves as well, some having even started up colony's outside of the CEP's power. Back in 2020, the planet's population neared 12 billion, but today, its population is less then 3 billion humans, mostly due to people leaving to live off in the colonies. Most of the planet has been used for industry or destroyed in one of the two great wars of our past. The CEP's power lies mostly with the colony worlds and the major powers, not the smaller, independent countries.

Earth has been very kind to alien species however, with a growing population of around 1 billion now residing on Earth alone. The populations are much larger on their home worlds, but those worlds fall under the power of the CEP for the most part, and could easily be considered part of its workings. Sure, aliens don't quite get all the comforts of humans right away, but there aren't laws of discrimination that directly prevent them from reaching those heights. Xenophobe is still a problem though, and it does exist in many humans, and hasn't exactly helped alien species feel to welcomed inside the CEP. Within it's ring, native alien populations make up around 45% of intelligent life, giving it a very noticeable chunk of the pie. Sure, there are other races that are more welcoming of alien life, both native to their ring and foreign, but the CEP is one of the better ones overall.

The CEP's major money maker is trade, thanks to their little slice on the galaxy containing a surprisingly large amount of rare materials and goods. Why, even some things that the people of the CEP see as normal, everyday things are considered quite nice among some alien species, like cheese being a delicacy, or old day swords being highly sought after collector's items. The treasury of the CEP is exceptionally large, given the size of the space union, though debts and recessions are still not unknown for them. Still, many of the people within in its space live fairly well-to-do lives.

The Interplanetary Defense Organization-

Even from its roots, the IDO has been about protect Earth from outside invasions, but today, they work to prevent outside invasions, attacks, and raiding of the entire CEP. As a whole, its member count does not exceed 10,000 in number, though this is only counting the actual agents of the IDO. Those employed to man their stations and ships are often just very lucky members of the navy, and are not considered an actual part of the IDO's listings. The units of the IDO cover the entire area of the CEP, the Lrisk Domain, and sometimes, even beyond that in covert missions. Just a handful of these soldiers are worth more then an entire division in any of the military bodies.

The IDO are the first to have access to the newest toys and gadgets that come out of the CEP and its ally, and the first to see the action of a battlefield normally. Each member is given an implant that works like a normal soldier's helmet would these days, offering a hud and many different vision options, like heat or night vision. It also gives the owner eagle-like vision and an enhanced perception. Many of the agents tend to be sick for the first few days after getting it, having to adjust to the changes, as well as having to learn that its all mentally controlled, unlike the old helmets, which were voice controlled.

Standard uniform for a IDO soldier is a black jumpsuit with a yellow band going vertically around the right side, where the chest is. It is made from a very comfortable material and is form fitting as well. The suit is capable of producing a personal anti-polarity field, enabling it to deflect some ballistic fire, but it isn't meant for a real fire-fight. Each suit also measures the life-signs of the wearer, and transmits that information to the hud when in use, and then its transmitted to the ship, so that everyone's vitals can be checked upon. For actual combat, all soldiers wear a special, light suit of armor. It uses the same field as the jumpsuit, but again, a prolonged fire-fight will wear on its ability. The armor is a darker grey in color, having a streamlined and smooth appearance. The joints of the armor are very bendable, allowing for little-to-no movement restriction. Another interesting thing built into this armor is a personal cloak field, which can make the wearer near-invisible to the naked eye. The armors do come with special helmets, made specifically to fit the head of the wearer, so that means that each armor is individually made for one person in the end.

The IDO do not use the same ships as the CEP, and instead, have their own personal fleet. The main ship of this little fleet is the Palace-Class Cloak Destroyer, which, despite the name of "Destroyer", is actually a cruiser class, the step above Destroyer. It measures in at 230 feet in length, has four stories on board, and a crew compliment of about 210, but it only requires 15 people to function at minimum capacity. The ship's design is stream-line and smooth, almost alien compared to the usual CEP craft. Armed with eight dual-medium railguns, 12 turreted machine-guns, and one forward-facing hyper-velocity cannon, the ship is a menace to deal with in space. So far, it is the only ship class within the CEP to have a cloaking system, as well as a anti-matter generator for a ship of its size. Stored on every Palace-Class are the iconic star-fighter of the IDO, known as Harpies. They are medium sized, dual piloted fighter-bombers capable of speeds equal to the best interceptor in the CEP's navy. They are known for being very tricky to fly, but a squad of them can easily take down a Carrier class ship in the right hands. They get their name for having a similar appearance to a Harpy Eagle from Earth, and each Palace-Class holds twelve of the little devils inside its hanger, divided into two wings. There are other ships within the IDO's navy, but they are not important enough to get a mention yet.

All new candidates for the IDO are selected by the commanding officer, and are then taken away for training. Some say that the IDO's unusual method of initiation is taking it a bit to far, well they simply reply that if the candidate can't make it through that, then they have no business with the IDO. Only 30% of those they pick make it through training, and even few manage it as an entire group. Lucky you just happen to be one of these candidates with a bright and shining future, should you pass~

It was dark, dark and quiet. The only sound about was a strange buzzing noise, and the screeches of metal under high pressure. There were no windows, no lights, nothing but the bright and sinister glow of red containment fields. The air was heavy with salt, and quite warm as well, uncomfortably warm to most species. Held behind these glowing walls were some very unlucky soldiers, taken against their will and imprisoned for whatever reason. Why? Well, no one could quite say, but they could all agree those men in dark were certainly no pushovers, having taken them all down with little problem.

The cells, if you could even call them that, had nothing inside them outside of a very uncomfortable cot. The unlucky few being held in the uncountable amount of cells were stripped of ever weapon, tool, and utensil that could possible aid them in escaping. And, this wasn't mentioning the tight, restraining prison attire they now found themselves unwanted slaves to. Of course, most, if not all of them were still probably out, or just coming to. They certainly wouldn't like their current circumstances, that's for sure.

If they weren't already awake, then the loud screech that followed, as well as the entire place shaking, would surely have stirred them awake. As they did awaken, they would've noticed the strange darkness fading quickly as lights started coming on from the far, far, far end of the prison block, and slowing making its way towards them. Though, the light wasn't very bright all, and did almost nothing to help them see any better then the pale, red light of the containment field.

"DONG!"

0RC.INU5(A) OS, version 0.9.7

Power on self-test. Unit now booting from operating system.

Power regulation initializing... 100%
Sensors initializing... ABORTED
Logic core initializing... 100%
Actuator systems initializing... 100%
Memory allocating to cache... 100%

Improper shutdown detected. Verify memory integrity... 100%

The 0RC unit stood in a dark storeroom some ways away from the cell block, powering up. It had been shut down shortly after being captured, so no telling what had happened in that time; a self-diagnostic was in order.

The low-level operating system sent signals throughout the droid's body, checking the status of all its individual parts. Structural integrity was mostly in order; the gun replacing its left hand was predictably gone, as were several choice components from the aerial drive systems. It wasn't as though it would have the power to run them if it could. It barely had enough juice to run its more advanced active sensors. Currently, only the extended optical band sensors were working.

All told, that was probably the best situation; it was lucky that it hadn't been completely junked on the spot. Meantime, all there was to do was wait and scan the room.

About a minute later, it had all it needed to know. It was mostly junk parts and worthless scrap;:not much that was applicable to the immediate situation. Now simply to wait.

Jekin groaned, his mind hazy about where he was, as he slowly opened his eyes, to be greeted by the darkness. It was too dark to see, wonderful, well save for the light from the red field. Wait, wait, a containment field? What was going on here... Standing up, Jekin got adjacent the field, moving his ears and head frantically, trying to pick up any sounds that were nearby, aside from the horrible buzz of electrical equipment that'd so long ago become usual. It was then that a screech assaulted Jekin's ears, as he fell to his knees until it passed, able to notice now a few, faint lights, activating in the distance. Only one question hung in his mind, and only one mental command remained before him. Where was he, and, he was not going to die here.

Vincent woke up rather uncomfortably rolling of the cot in his cell and falling to the floor. He groaned as he picked himself off the floor. He raised his hand to his head a loud ringing going off in his head. Not only that but his mind was in a fog and he couldn't understand what was going on he hadn't gotten drunk last night. As his mind cleared he started to get his bearings and had the sudden realization that he was in a cell. "Then again maybe I did." commented Vincent to himself. He quickly scanned the cell around him and the area around it. There wasn't any useful information or anything he could use to get out of this predicament so he just sat on his cot. It seemed he had nothing to do but wait for something to happen.

A sudden shake and screeching sound brought Vanessa to her senses. As she looked around the unfamiliar place she had just awoken in, she thought frantically, Where am I? How did I get here? But she couldn't remember anything that might answer either question. She grew calmer when she realized that none of her surroundings posed an immediate threat, but she was still disconcerted. She could now see that she was in a prison cell, with no discernible means of escape. Blast.

Vanessa got up stiffly from her cell's cot and stretched her limbs. She wanted to be ready if something happened, even though there didn't appear to be much going on at the moment. She stepped over to the glowing containment field and peered out, hoping to glean something about the situation. There seemed to be a series of lights coming on along a very long hallway filled with more prison cells; other than that, nothing of interest appeared to be going on. Guess I'll just have to wait.

"Oh, so you've all finally awoken..." There was a quiet, shaky voice from one of the cells, the one that seemed closest to the door. Despite the quietness of it, there was a power in it, and it was easily heard. "I was starting to think you were all dead..." From the way he spoke, it seemed that he had awoken long before any of them, long enough to know they were there at least. Considering that the walls of the prison were metal, you couldn't exactly see through them, but you could hear easily enough. "With all of you awake, maybe we can actually get started..." The lights overhead were still coming on, though another loud screech caused them all to flicker for some reason.

----

Luckily, for the robot, the door to the storage room had been left open. Unfortunately, there really wasn't much around the room for it to use as a weapon, or even to extend its battery life for more then a second or two. Most of the items there were broken, used, or just plain useless, though there was the chance that something functional could be made out of the stuff in there. The hallway just outside of the storage room was dark though, with but the occasional flickering light.

A second or two was technically a long time for a computer, but not enough time to offset the time it would take to charge the power source. Thus, the robot ignored everything else in the room and snuck out the door. Finding more power was the first priority; anything after that would be easier with sufficient energy. Even a wall outlet would be better than nothing, but it had not seen one in the storeroom. Before deciding on a direction, the robot attempted to recall whatever area maps it might have downloaded at the start of the mission.

Jekin was about to respond to the shaken up voice, when the screech caused him to flinch, for a moment. Those were going to get annoying. "Get started? Do you know where we are? Anything you could do for a member of the CED Army?" The way this guy's voice sounded, he was clearly a civilian. Jekin was scared on the inside, sure, but he could keep his voice from quivering for now, he was a trained soldier, after all. "Compliance will help me get you, myself, and anyone else in here, out."

Vanessa was mildly surprised but glad to hear that she wasn't the only prisoner; it seemed there were at least two others. She wasn't quite sure what to make of the first man's cryptic message, but she was a bit apprehensive about what he might have in mind for them. She thought that posing too many questions might make the mysterious man dismiss them all, so she stayed silent for the moment, waiting for him to answer the second speaker.

Vincent's head was finally clear though that only appeared to make the terrible situation he was in more apparent. He supposed it should be reassuring that he wasn't alone here but the idea that the group was prepared for a group of difficult prisoners didn't exactly brighten his day. At least one of the others captured was a soldier so it was pretty safe bet that whatever was going on had something to do with their being in the military service. It appeared that one of them might have some info so Vincent determined that he should wait and listen for the time being. Though the whole tension of the situation was really annoying.

"Now, let me just start by saying that no, I do not know where we are... But I have seen who has been keeping us here, and I have also noticed how these fields work. Taking them down isn't something I could've done myself though." The prisoner stood up from the small cot in his room and walked to the edge of his cell, the red light glowing against him but quickly fading as the lights overhead finally flickered on. Now, you could actually see your surroundings, but the lights were almost overly intensive, shining on the white floors and metal walls. The large prisoner, now revealed to be a Lrisk to those in the cells infront of his own, covered his eyes as the as the brightness shined around him and the cells. "Tell me. How many people are here?"

---

The robot would find its knowledge of the base lacking most likely, and the dark hallway stretched out before it foreign. So far, the coast was clear, but there were distant sounds from way down, something almost like talking.

Vanessa could hardly stop herself from immediately asking the Lrisk, as the prisoner apparently was, more about whoever had captured them, but she forced herself to address the alien's own question first. "At least you two and me," she called out, referring to Jekin and the Lrisk. "And maybe more," she added, since it occurred to her that there might be others that had yet to awake or had chosen to remain silent so far.

Now Vanessa couldn't hold back her questions. "What do you know about whoever's holding us? Do you know why he's doing this?" She realized just afterward that she had assumed their captor was male, but she didn't bother correcting herself.

"Are these fields not standard?" said Jekin, considering the Lrisk's need to mention that he couldn't get them down himself. Reguardless, with one of the other prisoners having accounting for him, he didn't have anything else to say, save for a quick question of "Might as well inform me of your plans, I'm good with electronics." With that, he didn't have anything else to do, besides pat himself down, just to see if he'd managed to subconciously smuggle anything in. A wrench, or something, anything he could use as a tool or a weapon.

Without a map, there weren't really that many advanced options for the robot. It was back to the fallback plan: find a wall outlet or some potent power source. The voices would be a problem. Lacking a gun or a full power source would be a definite disadvantage, and the voices could be guards with guns. If they were energy weapons, then their power cells might be worth a quick jolt.

The robot went down the way it had originally intended, slinking near the corners and sticking to the insides of curves and corners. It would go until it found either a door or the voices, whichever came first.

Since everyone was counting off Vincent figured he'd better speak up to help the others. Even if the whole thing was some sort of trick it's not like they didn't know he was there. "Prisoner number four here, and I have to say I'm loving the decorations." he commented looking at the plain uniformity of his cell seeming fairly bored. There wasn't all that much he could offer to the conversation anyway his main strategy regarding prison cells and camps being not to get caught.

"Good observation, these fields are pretty standard. The kind you find in any prison or military base within the CEP. Sadly, I don't exactly have any tools on hand that can get us out, and if I did, I would've used it days ago." The large Lrisk said, hearing the ruffling of clothes from one of the cages. "Its no use looking for anything, these outfits don't even have pockets." He let out a sigh and leaned up against the wall. "Though, now that you are all up, maybe we can get something done. Tell me, do any of you have sharp claws or cybernetic parts?" His voice was much less shaky now, almost strangely calm now.

---

As the robot grew closer to the voices, it might have been able to hear that they didn't sound entirely human, having an almost... metallic quality. Still, the lights were dimmed or completely off, and they seemed to be coming from down a nearby hallway. The machine could either attempt heading down that side hallway, or keep going forward, and forward seemed pretty quiet.

Vincent frowned slightly as the conversation continued "Not me it's just me in here cyborg parts cost extra." responded Vincent. It wasn't that he wasn't taking the situation seriously it was just that there was little chance he'd be able to contribute at this stage and he just needed to vent a bit. Though at least there seemed to be some others out there that knew some things about tech.

Jekin took a moment to reflect upon his hands, namely his claws. He couldn't really consider them sharp, considering he didn't take steps to keep them sharp, but... they were claws. "I may have suitable claws, what did you have in mind, eh?" he was going to take the time between a response to see if he could widdle one of his claws into atleast a slightly sharper state.

If the voices sounded synthesized, then that meant the speakers were either wearing some sort of armor (a bad indicator) or other androids (a very negative indicator indeed). Under better circumstances, sniping one of them and overpowering the other might have been good, but this wasn't the time. This was the time to play it safe and go the other way. Pickings might be slimmer, but that was just the fact of the matter.

"Well, from what I've noticed, there appears to be exposed nails along the walls, and these walls provide energy for the field... It might be possible to unscrew them using your claws... Yes, I know it sounds far-fetched, but we don't have many things to use." If it was at least some reassurance, he did sound confident in the plan at least. Still, even he could see that it could've just been silly. "Just trust me on this."

---

The safer of the hallways seemed pretty long, and with numerous doors lining the walls no less. Most of them were locked, and the ones that weren't just lead to more hallways it seemed. The place was almost build like a maze, and without a map, it would take a little luck finding anything. Luckily for the robot, the hallway was quickly drawing closer to its end, and at that end lay one last door, an slightly cracked door. There was a light on inside it, giving this strange glow to the thin crack between the sliding doors, as if inviting the robot to investigate it. There were some sounds on the other side though, the sound of footsteps.

This hallway was going to have to be it. The glow meant that there was at least some sort of device in there. Whoever was in there was going to have to be dealt with.

The robot slowly cracked the door a little more, just enough to poke its head through near the floor and get a look.

Jekin, took the moment to just blink at the Lrisk. He had several points to make here. "Firstly, screws, you unscrew screws, not nails, however, more importantly, What is unscrewing a screw going to do for us? Provided our captors were dumb enough to leave important maintinance access inside the cells, what am I going to do once I get the panel off, pray that the air slowly oxidizes some critical components and we can be out of here in a few years?" of course, even through this little rant, he was already working on unscrewing the screws as best he could. Note, of course, that screws were ment to be used with screw drivers, and claws wouldn't even hit more than one of the prongs of the screw's hole at a time, so this was going to be difficult, and time consuming.

Vincent let out a sigh as he sat back down on his cot "Well you guys let me know how that goes." he commented. There wasn't really much he could do until they were out of these cells and sounded like this was going to take a little while.

Vanessa was about to answer that she didn't have any cybernetic parts or claws, but the discussion seemed to move on from that when the other prisoner said that he did have claws. She stayed silent as the others spoke further. Given what the prisoner with claws said, she didn't feel like their plan was going to be easy, or more importantly, fast.

"Are you sure there isn't any other way to get these fields down?" Vanessa asked the Lrisk, since he seemed to know the most about their situation. She was already looking around in her own cell for anything that might help, but she didn't know much about the inner workings of containment fields, so she couldn't perceive anything useful for the moment.
