| It was Saturday morning, just about an hour and a half before lunch time. Taylor was sitting at her desk, reading her history book about the time of empirism, when nations were looking to expand their grounds far and wide. History was one of Taylor's favorite things to read about, and her grade average in the subject was fantastic! Tales of mystery, struggle, glory, defeat, and victory, some tales seemed to amazing to be true! History was perhaps her passion.
Looking up at the clock, Taylor stretched a bit, and then placed a book mark in the wonderful book. Looking through the window, the weather was peaceful and nice. Taylor decided to go outside for a bit and enjoy the weather, she may even run into one of her friends.
Nothing much was happening today.... the only good thing in the paper was how psycics predicted that supernatural forces were in the streets, and have been for 15 years, but Taylor didn't really believe in stuff like that. Just as most humans did nowadays... they do not believe in the unbelievable.

| The snoozing mass of teenager stirs in its sleep. With a very un-ladylike grunt, it turns in sleep to topple forth onto the floor.
Indigo wakes slowly, despite her fall. She blinks once and sleepily attempts to snuggle with a nearby box of circuitry.
This isn't a pillow.
Finally acknowledging her situation, she rises from horizontality with a groan of reluctance. The room that surrounds her is still as black as night. Indigo pulls herself to her feet and, after quickly dressing, fumbles for the door.
It's brighter in the hallway - the windows haven't been heavily shuttered here. She makes her way downstairs. Beginning to wake up now, the slightly teen pours some pretzels and milk into a bowl and begins to eat. After breakfast, she hoped, perhaps I could help Dad in the shop. Around here, Saturdays generally meant good business for auto repair workers... the day when the general public would finally break down and decide to get that leak or unusual sound that haunted their vehicles throughout the week looked at. If no such customer were present, Indigo would be quite content to shut herself in her room with her machines.
She would refer to the variety of toys and gadgets as her children, but only in private.

| Koji ran at the tree once again. This time instead of Jumping after his foot touched the trunk, he jumped before, and finally, after several tries, grabbed the lowest branch on the tall Oak. The branch was thick, and he easily gripped the ridged bark of the tree and pulled himself up. Once there he reached for a higher branch and pulled himself onto that one. Now that he was nearly fifteen feet in the air, he grabbed the final branch to pull himself up to the place where the trunk split into two. He leaned against the trunk of the tree and relaxed. He slid his headphones over his ears and and thumbed play on his phone. In response a cacophony of melodious beats and synths cascaded to his ears. Beautiful noise, but sadly he did not bring up anything to eat...
He climbed quickly back up the tree that hung over the sidewalk of the street below. A shadow swept under him as a car drove by, blocking the nearly noon sun. He took a bite out of the freezer waffle he had just made and soaked in syrup. He chewed it slowly and swallowed, he slowly pulled a piece off of another from the wax paper he held in his hand in which he had wrapped four in, and began chewing once more. "Not a bad brunch." He spoke aloud after finishing the waffles.
He reached into one of his many pockets to pull out a plastic bag with a left over piece of pizza, still warm from the microwave. Yeah he knew it was not exactly the best Idea to leave it in the baggy, but what ever... He slid the bent triangle out of the bag and took a bite. Left over pizza, the best. Music, food, and Saturday, one of the best combos known to teenagers. Perhaps all he needed now was somewhere to be, so that he could not be there...

| Across the way from Taylor, Ken sat in one of the front rooms with a small pile of ninety-nine cent movie rentals. One of them was playing on the TV: The Karate Kid. Movies were probably his favorite thing about Earth; all these different films were so imaginative! He liked pretty much anything he could get his hands on, except for most high fantasy. He couldn't seem to get a handle on those, or watch them without offering quite a bit of critique of his own.
He glanced away from the movie, out the window. From there, he could see Taylor's house pretty well. He could see Taylor herself if he looked in at just the right angle. There she went, reading again. She did love to read. Ken didn't really see the point of reading, at least not while he was on Earth. He could read at home. Movies, on the other hand...
He turned back to the movie and opened up a soda. Looked like another fairly boring day.

| Kicking his shoes off in the corner, Tyrea casually rocked in his chair as he flicked through a magazine about motor vehicles. Despite being able to fly wherever he wanted, he found a particular vehicle known as the 'motorbike' quite appealing. Still, he eventually became bored with it, and decided to watch one of Ken's 'movies', the animations he seemed to enjoy.
Perhaps it was his attention span that didn't really care for human entertainment, or it was the looks of Taylor that made him so distracted by the window. He wasn't too fond of reading dragon literature, it bored him in training, but he did find that human literature, had a certain relevance to them.
Stretching his legs, he got up and headed for the kitchen. "Anything you wanna eat?" He began cutting up a few things for his sandwich. It was the only food he'd eat without being told to really, everything else he had spat out for disgust, or in his early years, simply to be a pain.

| "I'll have a sandwich too," Ken replied. He didn't have to ask what Tyrea was making, because the likelihood of "sandwich" was pretty overwhelming.
Wax on, wax off...
This Miyagi guy was hilarious. Such a lightweight. Not nearly enough yelling, not nearly enough actual training. Ken wasn't sure why they'd make a movie about a kid who got duped into being an elder's personal house-servant (although it did lend a sense of irony to the title).

| Tyrea finished making the four sandwiches and carefully put them on a plate. Washing his hands afterwards, he dried and sanitised them with a quick ice burst, and carried the plate out. Placing it on the coffee table, he picked one up and stood in front of the window, watching the house opposite.
"I'll go down in a few minutes, might as well wait to see if Taylor's going too." He glanced down at the list he kept of items they had. Running low on soft drink, bread and a few other miscellaneous foods. "Anything apart from soft drink you want?" Tyrea casually noted the items he should get, their usual cost, and predictions on specials. Grabbing his wallet, he went over to the money tin and counted out $30.

| Taylor grew bored of the boring, mundane stories the news had to offer. She skipped over to the puzzle section and began doing a few crosswords. She liked the news paper mainly for these puzzles and and comics. Nothing much else. News, sorry, GOOD news was terribly slow. Who knows... maybe she will witness some news while solving the puzzles. | |

| Indigo stands in the doorway, observing her father as he works. Welding whatsits to thingamajigs, adjusting widgets, disposing of scraps... It was a time before he looked up to notice her.
Knowing what she would ask, he speaks in the disinterested voice of one who'd said the same thing every day for eight years. "Homework?"
She cringes internally. The English paper... Forgot all about that. Perhaps she could bluff her way through. "I did it all yesterday, after school." He faces her in that irritatingly inscrutable way of his...
Indigo's father turns away and resumes his welding. "Get your assignments done in the next three hours and you can help me find the problem with this jackass' Prius." The girl barely resists emitting a squeal of delight before running back inside, ignoring the passing comment that trails after her... "But for god's sake, don't rush it!"

| "Thanks. I'm coming too, so I'll see when I get there. Probably not much, though."
Ken took one of the sandwiches and started eating.
"But yeah, probably a good idea to take Taylor along, if we're both going. Spheres, when are they getting to the karate?"

| "Right." He pocketed his wallet, containing the special issue ID he had been given for this assignment, as well as the money he had taken out. Fortunately the tin was anchored to that point in space, virtually impossible to move, and the tin itself was stronger than any method of breaking in without alerting everyone in the street.
He quickly put his shoes on and pulled the door open, leaving it there for Ken to come through when he chose. Jogging down the path, he looked for any identifying letters that were from home. Bills and the such were forwarded to another place where they were easily taken care of. Obviously nothing had sprung up, a good time to go.

| The essay has taken Indigo a total of fifteen minutes, and the word 'essay' here is used in the loosest sense of the word.
She stuffs the minimalistic text into her backpack and rushes outside to find her father in the garage. Upon seeing her, he smiles and shakes his head. Something about her eager eyes, her innocent posture, makes her irresistible... perhaps she reminds him of her mother.
The two spend many an hour together in the company of their machines.

| A young dragon twists and twirls in a corkscrew motion as he takes a dive off from a cliff side ledge, his golden tattoos glinting like leaves glow in the sun, albeit a more metallic glow is emanated from the cog-shaped markings . He roars at the sky, a joyful sound of freedom and flight...
Though a louder, deeper screech not so unlike his own cuts him off and a shadow washes over him as a much larger form silhouettes the sun. The young Great Blue Time recognizes the shape of the larger dragon's wings and stops his graceful movement as he realizes he is probably in trouble. Again.
"TEMPUS!" A great, throaty, hoarse roar echoes from above him and he stops, merely flapping his wings to hold himself in the sky, head hung as he tries to think of a way out of his current situation. No, he's used that excuse already. Can't blame it on his friends, did that too. Heck, if anything bad happened or anything went missing it was automatically assumed that it is Tempus' fault, even if it has nothing to do with him. That's one thing he hates about the other dragons they are all so quick to judge before they even get to know him. The older dragon sweeps his wing over Tempus and the two fly to the ground together, a stern expression staining the older creature's snout.
What did I do this time...I should have focused more. I should have known this was going to happen....

| After the offending Prius had been analyzed, dissected, un-discombobulated, and reassembled, Indigo marches inside to clean herself up. A quick, warm shower washes the oil from her skin, though afterwards it still shows in her stained clothing. Feeling invigorated, she retires to her room for an afternoon of mindless tinkering.
Putting on some Daft Punk, which streamed through her personally modified earbuds, Indigo settles into a dilapidated old office chair and quickly pulls into view one of her many designs, a personal favorite. White strands outline a winged contraption on a blue background... the girl wouldn't dare to let her father find these, as he would quickly shoot them down as ridiculous and perhaps even confiscate them. The truth was, however, Indigo wanted to some day create the word's first personal flying machine, a task which she reckoned should be started as early on in life as possible if success would be forthcoming.
With nothing else to occupy her afternoon, she sketches up yet another design to add to the pile of hundreds.

| It was a boring movie anyway.
Ken shut off the TV and reached for his shoes, holding another sandwich in his mouth as he did so. He tied them leisurely, then realized he had forgotten to put them on first. So he untied them, put them on, and retied them. He strode out the door and closed it behind him. He'd catch up shortly; his relatively long legs gave him a decent walking speed.

| Hearing a knock on her bedroom door, Indigo quickly closes her design tabs and sweeps the multitude of open books onto her bed, where they lay in a disheveled mass. She turns around and looks as innocent as possible as her father peeks his head in.
He gives her an odd look. The sort of look one would assume when they know their offspring is up to something, yet are helplessly incapable of figuring out what.
"I'm going out to dinner again tonight. There's some ramen in the basement." With that, he removes himself.
He's still going out with that horrible woman, Indigo thinks. She lies back in her chair and swivels back and forth, staring at the ceiling. The lady was obnoxious in every way, and she didn't seem to care much about Indigo, so why should Indigo care about her? Someday, the girl hopes, my father will see the truth and get rid of her.
She allows her gaze to drift downwards to the shelves upon shelves of electronic trinkets, and retrieves her favorite - a small, feline-like creature powered by a AAA battery that protrudes from its back. With the stroke of a sensor on its back, the being curls into a ball and seems to breathe gently.
And until then, I have you.

| Taylor looked up from her puzzles. It was still day time... and she had just about completed the puzzles. Perhaps now would be a good time to visit her friend, Indigo. Getting up from her seat, she set off to her house.
Taylor liked to see Indigo. She was quite a thinker, with good ideas. She could feel that she was going to go far someday.
Upon arrival, Taylor rang the front bell.

| Indigo jumps mildly as a chime sounds throughout the house. Excited, she replaces her prized toy and dashes down the stairs, where she throws open the front door to find just the girl she wants to see.
"Taylor! Hi!" She yells, giving her friend a quick hug. "Come right in, dad's out back. Are you hungry? Are you thirsty? Are you both? We have these weird Chinese things dad brought home last week that are kinda liquid-y but they fill you up too and eventhoughthey'reaweekoldyoucouldstillhaveoneunlessyoujustwantedlike,asodaorsomethiiiiiiingI'mbabblingagainaren'tI?I'msorryIjusttendtodothatsometimeswhen..."
Still spewing endless sentences, Indigo guides Taylor into the living room, dragging several heavy textbooks from a chair so her friend could sit down.

| Taylor was quickly bombarded by a very hyper Indigo. Taylor could barely get a single bit of speech out. Finally, Taylor spoke "Um... Indigo... I'm fine. And you wanted to see me? ... Why?" she asked as she sat down on a chair. | |

| Indigo brightens and attempts to twirl a strand of her (rather short) hair. The effect amounts to less than the intention, but the girl has determined to master this practice one day.
"Oh, you knooooow... you're my friend! I always want to see you!"
She hesitates.
"And um. There kinda might've been this essay we could have been assigned for the English class I may or may not take and it's possible that I wrote it out in approximately fifteen minutes and I might have maybe wanted you to take a look at it?" Indigo gives her best pleading smile. She'd rather just ask if Taylor could write an entirely NEW essay for her, but she didn't think Taylor would see eye-to-eye with her on the morals of such a deception.
Best to meet her halfway! God we are such good friends, the girl thinks for no particular reason.

| Tempus is herded to the ground in the shadow of the larger beast. He hangs his head in mock shame, but all he while was studying the form of the shadow, analyzing what kind of dragon it is.
I can get out of this...work with me here....
Tempus concentrates his energy, he stops flapping his wings just before he lands in the ground, allowing that energy to be channeled into the pool of power he accumulates in his mind. Raw power builds up and he releases it immediately. Time itself obeys his command and everything freezes around him, including the larger dragon.
Tempus shakes himself free of Time's grip and begins to walk over to the larger creature.
"This should be amusing. But I don't have long...."

| Taylor rolled her eyes, but she smiled. Indigo had that problem of being easily distracted from doing her work properly. "Alright.. I'll check it out. Where is it?"
Taylor, for some reason, had a peculiar itch on the back of her head, which she tried to scratch away, but it wouldn't leave her. It would ease up, but refused to leave. Taylor decided to try and ignore it, and have it leave on it's own.

| Indigo squeals with delight and/or relief before running off to procure said essay from her backpack. She returns a matter of seconds later with a slightly crumpled, slightly written on piece of paper.
"I was just kinda hoping that you'd be able to... take a look at it, and maybe fix it up and stuff? Ifyouwanttothatis. Youtotallydon'thavetoImeanit'sokay, really. Well... if you insist. Thanks Tay!"
After catching her breath, the young girl seemed quite unsure of what to do with herself, so she simply stood and fidgeted awkwardly before remembering that she had given Taylor no pencil.
"Ugh - I'll be riiiight back!" Indigo brakes after a mere three steps, dons an expression not unlike that of one who has just remembered something inconsequential that slipped their mind a few years ago in a particularly nasty place, and turns around. "Hey - you okay, Tay? You're not looking so hot."
