Silver and Dusk: The three of you take off in the same general direction as your future party members. About halfway there, you encounter two hungry ghosts loitering around the exit of the alley you're coming out of. The way back isn't especially feasible, but there is a sort of crossroads. A restaurant, a small naval stores shop, and a few residences are nearby and can be reached without the ghost seeing you. All are likely to provide some sort of advantage; the restaurant, salt (assuming nobody's taken it); the naval store, firedust, rope, and lamp oil; the residences, who knows for sure. A hiding place at the very least.
