| And I don't mean the roleplays where it's like the other roleplays, but the same exact etiquette used in an actual DnD games. Except online. Is anyone up for such a thing? Of course, I am a complete and utter noob when it comes to these things and my experience in DnD is minimal, so having me be the GM would be nonsensical. So would anybody be interested in such a game, and would anybody be up for hosting it? | |

| I've always wanted to play DnD. x3 If it's an easy thing to get in to, then I'd be up for learning. If not, I understand :3 | |

| Well, we'd need someone that knows what they're doing first, since it seems we're all just a bundle of noobs. Perhaps Eo or Ji would know what they're doing? Mayhaps Jac?
We'd have to find an online monster manual (as those are all of the monsters and creatures in the game plus their stats) and a form to fill out our character's information and stats and such. Online dice roller (we got that covered) included.

| I have DDI (Dungeons and Dragons Insider), so I have access to all the awesome tools and stuff (for 4e ONLY). I know Ji has found an online map tool of some sort, and I ALSO know there are online dice rollers that we can all see and use if we have the same password in.

Oh yeah, well, um, what do you mean? Like an actual game of DnD? Not play-by-post? Because I personally find that fun as shit.

| For 3.5, you could always use D20SRD.org, which is basically everything in the core system legitimately for free. Or try Legend, which is a sort of 3.5 retroclone that's being offered entirely for free and is hyper-balanced. Basically, it's largely free and legal vs. free and torrented. | |

| I'm not sure how to do go about it just yet Legs. We should probably hold a vote to see how it's to be done - actual DnD or the way we normally go about roleplaying Eo, I am not sure what that means. What exactly are you talking about? | |

| Dad used to play DnD he had a death knight that was stronger than freaking gods. Soulless Cyrus was a paladin, and the church betrayed him, thus he became a vengeful person. Eventually he was so against the church, a powerful demon went to hire him as a hit man, granted him some power, and a sword that would give you the powers and half the hit points of whoever you killed with it. The first person he killed was the demon. Cyrus went on to own a huge fortress, a pet acid breathing dragon, rule over 6 plains of hell, fighting gods, and wiping out entire villages and armies with a snap of his fingers. One time a librarian begged to have his city spared if he became the librarian of Cyrus. Cyrus accepted, but the city was not spared. A curse turned everything and one in the city to stone, and a magic crystal in the middle of the city keeps the curse sustained. The city is surrounded by wyvern, and a red dragon has made the city his own lair, and the crystal the center piece of his treasure room. Later, a wizard was able to trap Cyrus inside a crystal, that was the only of it's kind in the world. Unfortunately, the wizard became trapped with Cyrus, and so did the fortress. The rare gem is now another treasure of the red dragon. The end. | |

| If you wanted to use D&D 3.5 instead of 4.0, then there are other resources for it. There are also better-balanced systems that are more or less designed off of it that are legally free. | |

| I'm not sure of the different versions of DnD, and I don't know what the different between each #.0 is. All I know is that there's a game called DnD that I played once. | |

| Think of it like different editions of pokemon, only with more dramatic differences. The basic idea of the system stays the same, but the system itself gets changed and rebalanced with each version. Each one has its own look and feel to it. Whichever you decide to use, the important thing is not to mix and match your sourcebooks between versions. | |

| Okay, making more sense. But seeing as how I only played once, I'm not sure how different it was from other editions, and I'm sure what edition I played. What is most common nowadays? | |

| I think I was playing 3.5. The sheet was black and white and at the top left corner were stats such as STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, and CHA. On the right, most of the page is skills and such, and at the back, on most of the right side was where you placed your spells.
That edition type if possible? It would seem I'm most familiar with that.

| Not sure what that meant, but using my skills of deductive reasoning, I can infer that means I was right. Brilliant. Now it's time to learn how to fill out this sheet all by myself. With nobody to help me. ;-; I think I'm doing well so far, although I am using the internet to help me out where I'm stuck. I'm supposed to do the whole "roll 6 d6 4 times", right? Because I really want a Gnoll Barbarian, and I'm getting these stats here: - Quote :
- STR - 24 (+4)
DEX - 24
CON - 23 (+2)
INT - 16 (-2)
WIS - 16
CHA - 25 (-2) [The modifiers being racial bonuses*] Also, are we supposed to start off at level 10?

| I mean, that's been how D&D has worked since 1st ed. I can't identify an edition based on that. Generally, you start at lvl 1. And skip dolling dice for getting your stats. It's really hard to get something balanced that way. Point-buy is much easier. Ji had a really nice calculator, but I don't have a link, so... try this bottom one. http://tools.digitalightbulb.com/pbcalc.htmlWhat edition does the book you have say you're using? fourth? | |

| I'm not using any book, I just have a sheet in a PDF file and I'm just searching everything that I need to know so I can fill it out. Probably a bad idea. | |

| On second thought, can you link me to the PDF you're using? I'm not sure if or where Gnolls are in 4e. | |
