In my opinion, there should definitely be some rules regarding castes. Seadwellers and highbloods, primarily. They seem to be a popular thing regarding fantrolls. Blue bloods not so much, though. I think they don't really need to be moderated. Really just a certain number of trolls in each blood color. We don't want eight seadwellers any more than we want eight yellows.

EDIT: Also, so things don't get out of hand, I'm thinking we want to avoid multiple characters maybe?

Alright the purpose of the voting is to never be a direct attack or a 'popularity contest'. I have seen many instances where the newer people are voted for Member of the Month and no one is selected twice in a row. It's a spotlight, not 'oh they're better than you'.

That said.............50 members?! Holy crud what do you think this is going to be the biggest bestest thing to ever hit the internet??!! Well I sure hope you do but even at least 20 active members is literally impossible in 99% of the situations due to life.

Well for the categories we don't want it to end up being say, all the Oculi get voted in or something because everyone likes those characters. So I was thinking we'd spread it between the races/generalized race-focused factions so they can all get a spotlight.

So for regulations I was thinking we'd need at least seven posts with them in RP threads. That way you aren't just churning them out constantly.

I'd say three characters for anyone who wants them, with the possibility to get more based on RP-quality. If I want two linked characters I don't want to make them 7 posts apart, but we also don't want troll-spam.

And character voting is probably fun, but player voting is dengerous with low numbers of players. Maybe base the "player of the month" based on the ratings of their posts, similiar to how stars work on the sporum?

Oh, and the first rule for making something online? assume more people will look at it than are ever likely to. Make plans for what you do if dozens of unexpected people pop up, how you'll add more mods when you need them, how you'll deal with trolls... You need ALL these infos. Becsause if you don't... Well, that's when they do show up, and you're not ready.

Alright. Should I perhaps shorten the numbers then? Perhaps just five, because if the word limit is only at x>or=100 then posts tend to fly by quickly.

Um...no. Also player is for video games and adulterous douchebags, not for RP members. You know what, how about we just do away with member voting all together? Character votes are essentially also that of the member's as well.

Jour. Am I the one planning this whole thing? Yes I am. It is a realistic assumption that not too many people will join, not something I'm basing my whole security system off of. I already know this. NEW ISSUE.

There are two ways to create accounts on these forums. One is to have one main account like normal people. Another is to have multiple accounts, one for each character, largely to keep track of their overall posts and to more easily define the character ratios.

So we are faced with two options: Convenience or flashy outrageous excess. Neither is a bad thing. In fact both of them are wonderful blessings from God. But which is better,,,,,,,,,,,,,,?

Multiple accounts... it comes with a feature to tell you the primary account, yes? Because so long as it does I think it works fine.

... Though now I have a question. If we do that, will the standard be for the name of the account to be a pesterchum name or their actual name? I can think of arguments for both.

Yeah pretty much. Like I know Proboards has an option to edit usernames, but the original profile name will stand, so perhaps something in the original profile name to notify who it belongs to? Or you could just put your other characters in your signature O:

This might sound kinda heretical but unless we can find a reason for set names other than "it's the comic canon" I think I might do away with them for trolls??? New people would just be unnecessarily confused.
