| ... There was a way to suck up the internet my sister is using to stream her Vampire Diaries over Netflix, and use it for myself. Or use the same amount of data she's using to watch her show.
Every time she goes to stream them the internet takes a shit and slows to a crawl. It's aggravating. And it's not even that good a show. Another attempt at grabbing at the Twilight Fame, but with the added attempts of more social intrigue that's that norm for day-time TV. It's basically a soap opera with vampires. It's not worth the bytes it's drinking to run.

| Is it a desktop? Cut the wires connecting it to the internet. Or you could get your own wifi device. Verizon Mifi is okay, and there's one with unlimited internet. When you reach a certain point in the bandwidth however, it starts to slow down. | |

| She's streaming through the Wii so to cut that off from the internet I would need to unplug the internet.
What I'd really like to do is to start burning as much internet as I can to slow down her stream and to force her to give up and watching something else. The writing is as terrible as my inability to properly surf the internet.

| Vampire Diaries predates Twilight. Good try though... XD
Tell her to just download them, that way she never loses them if the internet cuts out(hint hint), and she can run them at night while noone is using the internet to make it go faster. It's what my sister did with everything she ever watched.

| In any case, it's a horrible show.
And this is from Netflix. We can't download them. We could order them as CDs but that'd only piss me off as well when I can't order the shows and movies I want.
Especially when I was in the process of watching the first season of Game of Thrones. I would've brought a righteous hammer down on her head from cutting me off from that.

| My sister probably wouldn't use it anyways. And I'm certainly not going to fill my laptop up with the show just to throw CDs at her. | |

| It depends on your ISP. My ISP throttles streaming, so Netflix will always cause me major lag, except on super rare occasions. I am assuming your ISP throttles streaming as well. Generally speaking it is not supposed to take all your bandwidth. Long story short, as far as I know, no way to fix it unless you get a new ISP, or find a real way to limit the amount of bandwidth she can take, as in, slowing her connection down, so you and her use about the same amount, getting moderate speeds instead of one hyper fast and the other snail slow. I have never been able to do that myself. | |

| I might have to figured out a way to get in touch with Ashkelon then. Which at the moment looks like I'll have to hope I am unbanned on the Sporum. | |

| There re devices out there that you can get to purpously slow down the internet with. And software that does the same thing. Folks use it all the time to cheat at online MMORPGs like World of Warcraft | |

| You can set priorities for different processes, but that is usually on YOUR computer. Everything Aaron says shows his sister using Netflix on a wireless network, and it is harder to set the priorities of other devices, when again, his ISP probably throttles streaming over other processes, so it becomes harder to deal with. | |
