| Alright, sorry about the mess I left here after my rage, time to get things cleaned up and redone properly.
When I get around to it I'll set up a proper format for this page, links for servers, profiles and other stuff in general I guess.
So, Technic. Lots, and LOTS of mods to play with, rather resource intensive for those with slower computers I admit, but it is worth it. A Now, I'm looking for those who will 'specialise' in certain facets of Tekkit. Now, I don't mean your basic EE/Buildcraft set-ups, I mean hardcore Red Matter Armour for EE or tunnel borers for Railcraft.
Here's a list of the 'main' mods that I'm looking for specialists in. Basically I'm hoping that as a specialist you'll be able to help others out in your mod field.
Buildcraft/IndustrialCraft - RedPower - Railcraft - Thaumcraft - Equivalent Exchange - Forestry -
I'm intending for this to be fully legitimate, so importing items from NEI will be disabled. However that mod in particular is great for getting recipes which is why I'm not outright removing it.

| Yeah, for the moment I'm focusing on getting the group together for the map. Once we're up and running with that I'll be taking suggestions.
I've got 12gig ram on this computer, size isn't much of a problem here just so you know.

| Ooo most excellet, I've got plenty of thought as to what we'll do then. And also isn't there a kind of runtime issue? When the server will be up not everyone can be on et cetera... | |

| Little update in the OP, I'm writing a proper layout by the way.
Two main options are vanilla and Tekkit, because it's easy to install from what I know. I'll take suggestions for other user friendly mods though. :)

| Wait, you post your laptop is dead, but you also say you have 12GB of RAM on it?
How the heck do you have 12GB of RAM on a laptop? Or do you mean a 12GB RAM on a desktop to run the server?
Also, why do you need Bukkit or Tekkit? If you are just running a super hostile map, you do not need anything, you can use a straight up vanilla server.

| Okay, my 2gig graphics card that's probably $300 by itself blew.
The laptop supports 8gig RAM chips, came with 4gig with free 8gig upgrade.
Tekkit was for the main server itself, the map was to get people into the mood of a server while I built the layout of the main town.

| Progress: I have the router, but at this point I'm having difficulty both setting a static IP and port forwarding. It seems this one in particular is favourable to preset ports only, which doesn't include Minecraft. I guess I'll keep you updated if it works. | |

| I never left, I just blocked out the chatbox to resist the temptation of going back.
Eurgh, I despise Hamachi with a vengeance. It's mainly getting the DNS address that's the problem, for some reason I'm having no luck with the one I've got or trying to find the actual one. >>
