| Subject: SBURB Beta.zip ITS (kindof) A TRAP! I found the pass, I know. Sun 09 Sep 2012, 1:39 pm | |
| For those of you who don't know, or don't care. Sometime ago, a link to a file was put on a mysterious Tumblr. This Tumblr had an image of SBURB, and asked if you wanted to [download?]
==> took you to the mediafire download for the file.
<== took you to your dashboard, if you had one.
I downloaded the file. A zip, labled as SBURB beta.zip. Upon opening, there is a file, SBURB Beta, and inside that around 50 files. I researched each of the files. Most were related to ePSXe Controller Emulation hardware, nothing else turned up anything relevant.
After this I dragged out my .zip pass cracker. It's fairly fast, but it took all night to find the password. I got up, about 10:20 Central time, to find it had found it. "foxfriends11" BUT STOP RIGHT THERE.
I opened the ReadMe.txt More ePSXe emulator crap. Suspicious I opened the .png files. All blanks except for the dash board.png. Sound files are pretty much what they say they are.
I dug up my old hex editor and decompiler, and did the obvious to a Burutter.dll. (Now I hate hex, and didn't really know what I was doing, but it looks exactly like another I found on the internet of the ePSXe Emulator.
Now for the big one. The thing is coded as a RAT. but, it doesn't seem like it wants to work the way it's supposed to, that is be a Remote Access Trojan that jacks shit up/watches you in your sleep. So it is pretty Euclid from my decompile of it.
Don't run it. Just in case I missed something. It certainly is not written in ~ATH nor does it have any call meteor constructors. From what I can tell it is written in C, or one of its derivitives C# or C++
So yes, it was a joke. You may now delete the file and proceed to carry on with your life. I recommend running a virus scan if you didn't listen to me, and opened it. I am even though I didn't open the file.
Note: Yes, I was probably a little slow on the password, I looked it up upon finding it, and saw it had been released or something.
Note2: from my understanding there were multiple passwords, which is not possible to do on a zipfile as far as my knowledge goes. This means there were more than one file floating around. What's in those I have no idea. | |
