| Directions were to take the second right after the Sporum and then the first exit off the Reddit roundabout...ugh, I knew I should have turned left at Albequerque.
So yeah. Wazzup fellas?
To anyone who doesn't know me already, this probably seems the weirdest introductory post ever. To anyone who does know me already...um, actually, it probably is right up there with the rest of them.
:)

| Allergies, divorces, inflation, unemployment, racial tensions, religious bigotry and the sky.
Also a great sigh of relief for having cleared my university debt in a mere 16 months of hard labour and prostitution. One of those is obviously untrue. I did liberal arts, of course I never did manual work!
Mainly I've just been getting back to grips with reality. It's an unpleasant grappling experience, but lamentably necessary.
How about you? | |

| We found out our cat died yesterday evening. Cause: big dogs. I cried, my mom is distraught, and my brother is absolutely devastated. It didn't shake me up too much as long as I thought I would be, which makes me feel bad. I'm sad still, but I can think clearly and my ability to participate with the forum here should go relatively unhampered. | |

Yep, that about sums everything up. So, any good action around here or will I need to make something up?

Chaos has returned!
Quick, stockpile the bad jokes and prepare the defenses! We can't allow him to bring maturity to this forum!
And there's a few RPs going... for now. For some reason they all seem to die, one by one.

| No Midas, we're going to need you to make something up, stat.
You're the only dude bad enough to save the forum. I've probably got enough quarters for your continues though, if need to use any.

| Well, the Sporum is going downhill, with very few people frequenting it any more. Upside, this means hardly any troll activity. Downside from my perspective, just as few roleplays with real potential in them. Happens to every gaming forum, of course. That one lasted a fair while for what was basically a single game with a whole lotta problems. (Will still go back and play it for days on end once I get a dedicated gaming PC that can handle it though!)
As for here, well, it's nice to see some good old faces and some good young faces, if that makes any sense. May as well jump right in then...
What sort of roleplay should I create first for you guys and girls and hermaphrodites? I've a couple of ideas bouncing around, but the style that you're after is what counts here.

| Uh, well... what idea do you have? I don't know about everyone else, but I've always been more or less up for anything. | |

| I've two primary options:
Firstly, a High Fantasy game that reconstructs the genre, setting up the game-world in a manner that is internally 'realistic' as well as true to its traditions. I'd originally begun this in earnest when I was running "World of Illidia" back on the Sporum, although I was still new to the process then and hadn't quite got the intricacies down yet.
I'd originally worked on a combination of Elder Scroll style stat-based gameplay in conjunction with D&D-esque text adventuring, although I can see ways to simplify that considerably now. As a truly open-world game, the players would be entirely free to pursue whatever sort of life they wished...although bearing in mind that I would not prevent events from occurring simply because the players are not involved in them.
Secondly, a Mature/PG-13 Modern Fantasy game of action and intrigue, based in part on my fond memories of murtagh1135's "Sanctuary" series and in part on my will to debunk the 'popular' aspect of vampirism as being only of a single kind. Players would be new members of an ancient vampire hunting group, gradually being introduced to the notion that all vampire 'myths' from across the world are true.
In theory, it would require a bit more mental commitment and certainly a fair degree of maturity, since taking on global mythology in all its multifaceted and nefarious aspects is a daunting challenge - I spent three months just compiling information, never mind learning it, when I first came up with the idea. Fortunately, starting right at the beginning gives players the excuse to do no research as they are brand new to this.

| I have unfortunately become a massive sucker for the fantasy genre as of late, so I'm basically auto-drawn to the former. Though the latter sounds interesting. There's a lot of... crazy vampire myths out there though, especially in eastern cultures. | |

| Both ideas are pretty good, however I'd prefer the latter. I'm a sucker for modern/urban fantasy. And, if I recall, Romanian folklore had some pretty interesting stuff about strigoi/vampires. | |
