| Don't know what need you'd have for "cool" weapons. Functional, of course, but they generally aren't very cool. There's a reason the U.S. Army rejected my Face-Render 3003 Chainsaw-Zooka. Still would prefer something like Illidia. Cracked article to reference earlier point on crazy myths here

| I remember Illidia, I was in it very early on in my career. Tried to suppress those memories. I'd definitely join a remake of that. | |

| I saw "Illidia" and didn't bother to read the rest. I know what I want. :D
Then I went back and reread it, and I still would like Illidia.

[innocence] Oh, someone else read the same article, did they? [/innocence] Loved that one, I must say. Gives the GamesMaster a whole new slew of potential weird stuff to throw at players. Besides, the westernised vampire has been done, so to speak, to death. Even in its most classical image of modernity, ie. Stoker's vision, there is very little that doesn't come as a shock. But if you go east, you find some truly magnificent - in their sheer ghastliness, often enough - vampire myths. As for Ilidia, I remember it all started to go downhill when I started losing my backbone to ColossusEpic like so many others at that time. It's people like murtagh and Sakky I feel the sorriest for - they and their RPs seemed to suffer the most from his overbearing 'style'. The early stages were less good than the later ones simply because I hadn't quite got the hang of mine and lee's own system yet! :p It seems to be a toss-up between the two thoughts so far. I'd be happy to run both at once for different people if there isn't an overwhelming preference towards one or the other, but that's just me.

| If you're fine running both... you should. This forum needs every injection of lifeblood we can give it.
Yeah, I understand the sentiment about Colossus. I wish we'd put our foot down against him sooner.

| What happened with Collosus? I feel like I missed something rather large there.
I'm beginning to realize I was somewhat sheltered in my time on the sporum, only joining a handful of RPs, none of which had any significant crossover.
Seriously- name every RP I was in, and excluding the DK stuff and RP series there will be literally no crossover. I just joined things at random.
And I have a book on the different types of vampires, though it's this wierd blend of old and new, and it uses phrases like "Nosferatu" and "Romantic" to refer to the various types of vampires. Also, according to it vampires only gain the "classical" weaknesses when they become older+more powerful. that was an interesting thought.
Oh, another side point- how do you feel about the idea that vampires are more powerful during a full moon, implying that they actually take strength from the sun, but that sunlight itself actually fills them with too much power, causing combustion? I thought it was an interesting idea, and I rather like the idea of a vampire stepping into the sun to go out with a bang.

| Colossus was...dedicated, to his own type of character. Which was always a gargantuan child-man with mommy issues. He also had no sense of making himself the most powerful thing in the entire RP, up to and including trying to supersede whatever its maker said if it didn't suit him. And because he was generally literate, sounded polite and posted regularly, a lot of RP makers simply let him get away with a lot.
Including myself, for which I hate myself profoundly, as it led to my abandoning Ilidia and everyone who was enjoying it up to that point. Honestly, the less we say about him the better.
Except for the fact that the admins - never mind the mods - were once reported to about him indicating suspiciously pedophiliac behaviour towards a 13-year-old girl that he seemed to become obsessed with and a similarly aged boy he described as an 'Adonis'. THAT did not go down well, although there wasn't much evidence to go on and it was a far more relaxed time in general, so he was able to stick around on the Sporum until everyone who knew had left or forgotten.
Will never get tired of bringing that up about him, that's for sure.
****
Regarding the vampire suggestion, cursive, I'd simply be sticking to anything I find in Real Life vampire mythology, no matter how obscure, as actual fact. Theories regarding certain aspects of said fact - such as why some vampires burn up in sunlight - would of course be entirely valid in-character conjecture, although it would never be confirmed either way.

| An example of his all powerful tendancy, and Eo can back me up: He made a character once who he quite literally declared to be super strong, and able to reform if injured, no matter what. I believe he used the example of "He'd survive a direct nuclear blast", or something to that effect. It killed an rp as we all basically complained at him for a few days. Eventually he somehow said that he did have a weakness, I think it was saltwater. Something that, was never said in character, nor at all, until after that rp had died.
But enough about Colossus. We could rant for days. I'm pretty sure I'm the one who butted heads with him most often, so I've got stories.

Anyway, I'm up for whatever you'd prefer to run, Chaos.

| I would like a rerun of Ilidia, as not only are there some fond memories, but only because there are some... not fond memories as well, and I feel a slight urge to redeem myself from that as well. Early Ilidia was a mess that I apologize dearly for.
Unless I'm missing something and those were two completely different roleplays.

| That sounds unbearably awful. and creepy as fuck.
See sporum name, Chaos.
the explanation thing came from two separate aspects of vampire mythology- that full moons empower them, and they burn in the sun.
If we're going by mythology, then none of the Vampires should be weak to sunlight- that comes not from any actual mythology, but from the movie "Nosferatu". AKA the Dracula movie that wasn't. Prior to that even Dracula was immune to sunlight. And unless we're including the original Dracula(which, honestly, no argument for why we shouldn't) then no weakness to crosses ETC.

| Well, I've decided to try my hand at running both for you guys, so check the High Fantasy and Mature sections for the OOCs - I'll get the ICs up and running when you've got your characters lined up. | |

| I just moved the one in High Fantasy before I realized I should talk to you about that. There is an OOC section so we could keep those separate. I'm not entirely sure how everyone feels about that, and I should probably get everyone's opinions on it. But yeah. | |

| ...oh yeah. Saw "OOC Stock" at the bottom and didn't think any more of it, then completely missed seeing the actual OOC section further up. Yeah, good call.
*cough*
So guys, check the OOC threads in the dedicated OOC thread section for the details and we'll get started once you do.
*shifty eyes*
What? That's a sound-effect too. Now. Ahem.

| Mine was Hercules, MacGyver, Xena and Thundercats.
One of those is not like the others. Go ahead and guess. Probably all answers are correct.
