Also I just realized how utterly creepy and terrifying Amatus is. It never really hit me until now. o-o

Kiyalla is creepy... Sort of... In a non-creepy sort of way.

How does Amatus stack up against, say... Itania on the creepy/scary scale?

Well let's see. First of all, he's all nice and happy and a little bit ditzy in personality, as much as he'd like to come off as a quadrant master, except due to his ideas of TROLL SERENDIPITY his caliginous candidates are pretty much screwed. He takes the hate way too far for most of them to handle, and his immaturity leads to a whole bunch of temper tantrums.

Then his spade lovers die. And then he uses their corpses to decorate his home. Horns for statues, sculpturing, coat-hangars, anything really, while the blood goes to dyeing his carpets, curtains, and furniture. And he's perfectly 0kay with it. Oh and sometimes he uses them for clothes, like ties and stuff. Which means he essentially is wearing dead troll.

Then we have the TROLL DOLLS, of course, which in Alternian culture I kind of pictured to be the equivalent combination of voodoo dolls and creepy horror movie dolls. Also known as no one in their right mind collects dolls, but he does. He has shelves of button-eyed trolls, their stuffing dyed with blood and their hearts of skin pieces and horn/nail chips. When he gets frustrated (a lot), he usually takes it out on the dolls. Who represent everyone he knows.

HE IS FIGURATIVELY TEARING APART OTHER TROLLS. Normally this would be perfectly normal if it weren't for the fact that right after he stitches them up and apologizes to them and is all sad.

Amatus is the Creepy Child without even being a child.
