Almost three years ago, the Virus broke out...nobody ever saw it coming. It was fabled to be the pinnacle of human medical research...the cure for Cancer, but instead it was the downfall of the entire race. Now few remain alive who are not claimed by the Virus, and life is harsh. Food is scarce, which drives many to insanity...even into cannibalism. Yet not all who are infected are feral, some have retained enough intelligence to coordinate with one another using various tools, such as guns. Along with with humans, some animals have succumbed as well; such as escaped lab rats who in turn infected other rats. The year is 2013, some time around the month of June...you are a surviver living in the Chicago and Detroit areas. You do your daily labors in sunlight hours, but at night you must lock yourself away from the outside world...this is cold, hard survival...

If you haven't guessed correctly yet, this is not exactly a zombie RP, and this is not exactly a mutant RP. This is based on the movie and book, "I am Legend", along with original ideas.

We are still forming this as is, so bear with us while we get stuff set up!

Infected enemy classes:
In this RP, we are incorporating many enemy types for a wider variety of things to fight, this list contains those enemies and any important attributes they have.

Hawkeyes: These peregrine falcons serve as reporting scouts for the tribes. Seeing a bird at night is almost a dead giveaway, and they will shriek upon finding anything that isn't part of the tribe. They circle above survivors after calling.

Shriekers: Vultures who were contaminated by eating the flesh of infected humans, they nolonger scavange, they prey on live humans. They are nocturnal, and will die in sunlight just like everything else. When they spot prey they let out a loud and raspy shriek, alerting the others of their flock. Numbers range from one to seven per flock.

Swarmers: Infected rats that occupy condemnable housing outlets and sewer systems. They are vicious and attack in swarms, hence the the name. They roam in hordes averaged around fifty rats, and are very quick.

Hunters: Contaminated dogs which the infected humans use as pets, usually unleashed upon their enemies in packs of two to five. They are quick, dangerous, and relentless persuers.

Infected: They are the most common of the human varients, and have superhuman agility and strength. They are feral, and communicate by roars, growls, and shoving eachother around. On average it can take three to four bullets to kill one, or as an alternative...the front of your car.

Lost ones: Almost looking like some sort of mutant, these types are infected children with thinner, but slightly longer limbs. They have supernatural abilities that others don't, like climbing upside down, or on walls. Given their climbing abilities, they can survive up to two stories of a fall without having so much as even slight injury.

Banshees: Female infected who are quicker than normal, they let out a piercing scream when attacking, but aren't any more durable. They are normally solitary.

Brutes/tanks: Appropriately named because of their strength and durability. Unlike the rest they can take up to eight bullets, can survive being hit by a car going up to forty MPH, and on the other hand can move or even overturn a car if given the chance.

Alphas: There is one for every thousand below him, they are faster, stronger, and as durable as a brute. They are the head at the top of the line, and that position wasn'tr just given to them.

Tribes: Feral humans that have retained intelligence, yet very little of it. They know and can say simple phrases, and can hand-make tools to fit their needs. They live in small camps within buildings or just outside them in shaded areas. They too have a cannibalistic nature, but will torture another human until they die before eating them.

Gangs: Diseased humans who've retained quite alot more intelligence than the others, yet still attack on sight. They know how to speak in complete paragraphs but do not regularly do so. Unlike their slightly less intelligent relatives they do not build their own tools, but instead use premade items like knives and guns. They enjoy taunting while hunting other humans, then when they catch their prey they slowly kill them, and then eat them afterwards.

Rules:
1. Basic RP rules, use grammar, try to post atleast three sentences, no godmodding, powerplaying, or metagaming.
2. The only way you're getting anywhere fast is in a car, so don't travel somewhere on foot and expect NOT to be attacked. Plus the supplies are needed, this is realistic afterall.
3. Remember this IS sort of post-apocalyptic, so there will be trust issues.
4. Please refrain from sexual interactions, there are better things to do than scream all night and get killed by infected while doing so, then get eaten by them.
5. Me or mods will control larger groups of enemies and harder enemies, but feel free to control smaller groups of enemies you encounter on your own decision.
6. You DO have a choice if you are immune or not, then when bitten you'll either be turned or keep going on depending on that choice, NO surviving an infecting bite if you are not immune. And once infected you CAN still play as yourself if you choose, but you must become FERAL.
8. I expect you all to have the sense of reading over our rules, and if you break one you'll have three warnings before you're outta here, but I don't see that happening.
9. Be nice, play fair, have fun. You are human afterall.
10. I'll need help pointing out if these rules belong here because I've only made like three RPs and their rules weren't strong enough and the plot not deep enough. So don't just bash on me for not getting it right.

It's just... pale. Julie's hair is strait and bears something of a sandy blonde color to it. Her eyes are pale blue... what a fascinating fact. Clothing wise, Julie normally wears clothing consisting of a white t-shirt and some deep blue jeans. She primarilly wears a pair of tenis shoes that are plain white with a hint of light blue coloring to them.

Misc: Julie has a black hummer and a small handgun. She has a large supply of bullets for it, primarilly handmade. ((Don't ask me anything else about the gun, because my reply would be idk))

Misc: A well-preserved Mosin Nagant M44 bolt-action rifle. A yellowed photograph of a couple and their young daughter.

Other: Masha grew up in a strict household, which was, for better or worse, conservative in rules of etiquette and proper upbringing. Consequentially, Masha found fitting in with social crowds a difficulty, and her insufficiencies in arithmetic and schoolwork in general only served to ostracize her further. Masha grew up, mentally, via her weekly excursions, through which she developed a picture of the city and surrounding countryside, and nursed ideas which her family’s society would have scoffed at, and it was this practice more than anything that secured Masha’s success in the real world. Present-day, she is reserved and contemplative, but blunt and stubborn when engaged in conversation.

Info on the Chigaco and Detroit areas would be nice too, seeing as we're working on the OP, anyone know enough about it or live there?

Detroit, like almost all of Michigan, is Humid Continental, (Because of the Lakes it is exagerated slightly.) Which means blistering could winters and mild summers. In the month you are talking about it would likely be around 80-90 deg and climbing steadily till about the middle of July. Generally below freezing for about half of the year.

Chicago is a slightly different story. It is also Humid Continental, and also has Distinct Winter and Summer (As well as fall and spring) Chicago has a higher average temperature in the summer months but can get fairly hot and extremely cold. In the time frame, it would be about the same as the first.

Well, you need a goal. Every zombie movie has a goal. Get to this island/safe haven/amusement park. Or find the cure like in I Am Legend. Some sort of end game that is certainly capable of being achieved, but requires slight character destruction and reconstruction along the way.

Well, I wasn't going to just reveal the whole plot before we got started, because I want to lasso most of the characters up before we really got moving.

So to give a light sort of explanation we'll be trying to get to the fabled safe haven in Vermont, but we'll have a Zombieland sense of comedy and tourism. We'll be going places, assuming we get that far. Other than that we're gonna make this serious.

Along the way we're planning to have our characters hear distress calls and all together decide if we'll help or not if and when we get there. But our goal was going to be decided by our characters, even though, y'know, we'd already decided ourselves.
