| Yeah, ours is a bit slow too. Mostly we play on Steam and stuff. But I'm sure if you wanted to start something some people would be interested to join. | |

| 'Ello, Tetrarch. Nice Sanguinus. Hope you see something of interest, though admittedly, this place is liable to stop for months and start for weeks.
Mata, d'you have a plot or region(s) in Horizon that you might want to explore? I don't know if you care for 'tabletop' RPGs or forum games, but I'd also be up for any of those.

| Our history is one of great adventure and passion. Some were great heroes and heroines of old, some were great villains, and yet more were just great. But our homelands were cursed by plagues of blackbirds and a great massing of illiterates. So as with all great beginnings we migrated, set of on a pilgrimage to this here forum. This place is great during the early summer generally. Or it was, I suppose most of us have jobs now. We tend to be off and on because of school and the workload.
Well, Mata, when I want to start something I generally just punch someone... wait... you don't mean that kind of start something... Well uhh... [insert inspiration here]

| Ooh I've never run an RPG before! What with all those fancy stats and stuff, right? That'd be kinda cool! I remember another RP that I was part of on here, not toooo long ago, I forget what it was called and who ran it and stuff, but it was like, everybody signed up and had their characters and instead of being sandbox-y everyone RP'd directly with the OP, who acted sorta like a DM and threw them into scenarios in the world that he'd devised and stuff. And it was cool because then you could sorta help create that world, too, as you played along, and then when you start interacting with others it got even cooler. Always thought that was a really fun way of doing things cause then it's harder for the RP to die because you don't have to really wait for anyone except the OP! Think I should give it a shot?

| That was chaos, I remember that.
RPGs are cool. It'd be great to have another ttrpg'er on here.
As an aside, 'Ello friend.

| World of Illida, yes. That's what drew me here. ChaosHarbinger was brilliant.
Yeah, structured games on the Sporum tended to die only because the GM (or later in the forum's life, plot-critical PCs) tired of 'em. No shortage of audience participation, at least back when we were young with lots of time to spare. And, mostly, untrained storytelling skills. Unfortunately.
I'm a mite frustrated that 'tis not the case anymore. But for what it's worth, you can almost certainly count me in if you do give it a go.

| I would love to breathe some more life into the forum again, but I'm a bit afraid that burst of air is only going to cause some embers to glow instead of actually sparking a fire, so to speak. Not enough kindling... but enough with the metaphor. I'd remind Jac about Demon World, but I'm afraid that would only get our hopes up again and that the roleplay would die before we even got mid-game. What else could we do for Mass Effect? I guess I was waiting to give Balu another chance to post, but I was ever needed, then I'm really sorry. | |

| Throwing ideas at the wall and making them stick? I was saying if we attached nails to the wall, the ideas would stick better. | |

| here, let's steal some other peoples' nailsWell, I've already posted both of my RPs. Perhaps they're too dense to function as kindling? I still consider Hired Guns to be active, and Demons' World and Multiverse to both be in hibernation pending return of the OP. Also, I'm thinking a 'build some characters' group evo game / inspiration-share could be amusing. Post an Aspect (as per Fate) or pic (ideally with description / lore) or song, and work the previous poster(s)' offering(s) into anything Aspectable - a character, a city, a story arc, whatever. Bonus points for incorporating multiple offerings (even your own) into one char over time. In short, a game set in a perpetual charsheet submission phase. If anyone's interested, we can probably set up in the Civilization subforum. | |

| ...which one?
GM'd (e.g. Phylum, Regnum Magnum, many others) or not (e.g. Roleplaying, Magic vs Tech, others that I'm not aware of)? Set in which stage(s) - Cell, Creature, Tribe, Civ, Space?

| The one that was called " Roleplay" plus whatever number sequel it was on. I think it started in cell/creature and they just evolved/developed from there. | |

| Ahhh yes, the one with the originally original name.
I imagine youd have to start in Creature stage... not much to do in cell. "[name] ate some algae." QQ

| Well, that's what I get for not looking the exact name up.
Cells have decently exciting lives that happen to bear little or no resemblance to what Spore calls Cell stage. There's lots of fun stuff that can happen to / come in through their plasma membranes. Plus, how do the various components of a multicellular organism know to differentiate themselves?
I mean, there is the downside that they're self-regulating but otherwise mindless. The fate of a colony under changing environmental conditions might not be entirely uninteresting. Even though Creature stage does, admittedly, seem to hold more story-potential.
If someone else wants to run something like that, I'll take a look. I just really hope we don't have any powergamers left.
