I agree; the new avatar is lovely! And praise to Miirik again for making it, of course. :)

Oh cool, good to know that picture will come so soon, Lupus! (I finally figured out how to call you something other than Wolfpaw!) I also notice, not that I know why I'm bringing it up, that we can see your age all of a sudden! Maybe because I'm naturally curious about those sorts of things. Interesting how so many of us (and Patches as well) are grouped right around the same age....

I did say I love Miirik now for making it for me :3

Tex you've been a good friend too man :D Thank you!

Eo... I don't fully understand what that cake is... But I do know I want it.

OH HEY GUYS I JOINED THE 17 CLUB WITH MICH/JALINES/AND JOKIE
There are four of us now. Hahahah... least till December.
Oh and Mich, probs because we're all from the sporum, and to get on their we had to buy the game. I guess we're just the age group it really appealed to when it came out. Which is awesome.

Yes, yes, welcome! For four months, anyway.

Mm...I'm not so sure that teenagers (even much younger ones at that time) were really the target audience of that flowery, over-simple gameplay, but before I learned how kiddy it was, I actually managed to have a ton of fun with Spore (and also somehow fail the ridiculously easy Civilization stage my first time through), so you might be onto something there. ;)

Bleh.
You know what I find weird. You're about a year older than me, but in the RP Val is about a year older than Tem.

Dude I loved Spore. Flying around in my spaceship n' stuff. It was a blast. Then I found the forum and forgot about the game XD

Val's a year older? I forgot. On that note, I really need to decide when Tem's birthday is....

Ah, Spore. My first few days in it (when I was playing Creature Stage) were absolutely amazing! Then I got to Tribe Stage and didn't remember how to be social, so I killed everyone, and then I angered too many people at once with my military civilization and couldn't make much progress against all of them. Space Stage was fun once I spent a couple games having me and my allies destroyed by aggressive jerks in order to figure out how to be competent. Hey, quiet, I wasn't as good a gamer in December 2008. *Crawls away pitifully*

But yeah, the forum overtook it at a point. Galactic Adventures kept me going longer, but eventually it just wasn't interesting anymore. Roleplays, though... :D

I'm just gonna make Val's b-day mine. Easier that way. Blake... huh... let's do my brothers WHICH IS IN DECEMBER OH MY GOD

I loved the "kill things, they want to kill you know, kill them harder" type of play!

I never understood how to make GA work :/
Dude, I love Roleplays. I jumed to the roleplay section and never left.

Picture is finally uploaded, had to re-upload it three times because of those size requirements of whatever was causing it to be annoying.

Yeah, that's my age. Don't really have a set birthday for Kaldra or Aressa, although I doubt Aressa would even know her's.

The first thread I joined was that Creative Dragons Club (don't really remember if that was its name), then I went over to the roleplay section and rarely ever went to other sections after that.

Ah, Spore... I've always been irked about the kid-friendly approach Maxis took to it, but I did my best to make it cool. I haven't played it in a super-long time, although I've thought about going back to try to finish a certain adventure (or even the entire unreleased series it's part of) that I started making. More recently, I've thought back on the garish design flaws in both the base game and Galactic Adventures, yet I can't deny that I enjoyed them while they lasted.

Oh my... I hardly considered what Ev's birthday might be. I think I'll have it be pretty soon compared to the IC date so that he's actually close to 9 years old, because I've been worried about how realistic some of his thoughts and emotions have been for someone his age. I've mostly been using the excuse that he was older as a human, so then some of those more adolescent tendencies might come through before he reaches that point in his dragon age. I guess it's not too shoddy an explanation, but I think it would help the realism for him to be a little older anyway.

Okay, enough of my roleplaying angst. Another December birthday, jtc? Wow! And yeah, kind of like you and Lupus said, I pretty much forgot there was anything else in the Sporum besides CoA after a while. :P

Silent OOC is silent.

So! Question!
I want to write my opening IC post. We decided a good explanation for them to be gone was for them to chase down a lead. (I can bs some awesome ways for them to find you guys don't worry)

I just need to know two things.
Where are y'all in relation to the sandstorm that happened earlier?
Help me figure out what this lead is (someone had an idea) and what did they find?

Well, we're still pretty much right where the sandstorm was; it happened just outside Fry's, and our guys are now working on getting farther away from the store. I think they just started moving, though.

As for the lead... hm... maybe a different name from the missing persons list? I suppose you could say he glanced at it and decided that someone else on the list was more worth investigating. Other than that, I'm not sure what leads might be available.

And since I'm not Eo, I can't be certain what that investigation would yield. My best guess would be something similar to the first two people we've gone after, but that might be a bit repetitive.

Oh! How did I not think of this sooner? Val and Blake might want to pursue that one flyer about the missing kid, Luis DeLeon. They were there when Kaldra (er, I think that's who it was) found and mentioned it, so it's a plausible option.

Anyway, I hope that helps.

Actually, it's not you this time. In fact, it might be... er... me. Embarassed Um... yeah... sorry if I kind of got your guys' hopes up. I've been gradually more stressed every day with school approaching, and now that it's starting tomorrow for me and Michangs, I'm about to be spiritually dead for a little while. Then again, I might become less lazy with a new workload. I guess we'll see.

So don't be so hard on yourself, Eo! I'm so sorry if I or any of us made you feel like that, really.

I was waiting for Lyric to post about Agate again, actually. That would free up Tem and Kaldra and basically get those who aren't moving, moving again. That said, Leaf might appreciate not staying there at the store while everyone else leaves without her.

And yes, Lyric, I recall you explaining that the Lost and Found OCT is sucking up a lot of time, so I'm not going to scold you or anything.

Should we officially call hiatus and wait until the week after school starts, just so nobody's really *waiting* on anybody, and we're not trying to cram this in amongst our other stuff?

I think a hiatus is just going to happen whether we call it or not if nobody's ready to post, and then I don't think it's helpful to try and hold back anyone who is ready. Those are just my thoughts; maybe it would be better to take the pressure off Lyric for a little while, I'm not sure.

Yeah, I think it'd be better to leave the option open, but make it clear that no-one really expects posting to occur until then. Leaves flexibility that way.

(Agrees with Jokie)

So, I like the idea of Val and Blake going off to talk to one of the peoples, right. I just need Eo to basically tell me what they would've said XD
I'm not going to post them talking to the guy. I just need to get them back to the group. :3

Yeah, school started yesterday for me and I've got some stuff after school tomorrow and the next day. I should start to get an idea of my homework load by then, therefore I should know the amount of free time I'll usually have too. A short hiatus is fine with me, although don't let it discourage people from posting if they do have the time to do so.

Okay then. Officially, I'll just say that if nobody posts for the next week or so, that's cool. JTC, if you want to go looking for the lost kid (or one of them? I think there were a couple) with your own two characters, we can handle that in the meantime, typing it out or summarizing it, either way.

Yeah, Eo, that sounds like a good idea.

SO!
I don't know who all I told on dA cuz it's a pain keeping track of things.
I want to draw a picture of all my friends, Internet and IRL (A term I hate). But, here's the catch. I want to draw you Anima(Animus) Animalis. Some of you may know it as a Dæmon.

It means "Soul Animal" or "Spirit Animal" and it's an animal representation of your soul and personality/subconscious. So for those of you who want to be in it but don't know what theirs is, I invite you to find it. It can be a difficult task, but very rewarding when you achieve your goal. If y'all are interested I can talk more about it in greater depth :3

I'm a most likely a serval, like I probably said somewhere before. What would you do to soul-search, anyway? Find an animal that's similar in behavior to you? (e.g., quiet, people are quiet animals, like cats?) If that's the case, I'm 99% certain that I'm a serval.

This is what I told Jalines to help him out.

Quote :
The whole point is to be able to describe yourself with an animal. Kinda point at it and say: "This is me. This is my soul."

As for me. Well, Ospreys live around my house so I can actually study them (and also research by people whose job it is to study birds). I looked at a lot of animals... And the human soul is complex. It's really hard to define, so whatever you find might not be exactly 100% you.. So like, for me. If you were to look at how I show myself to people, my AA might be something like an Otter. Cuddly, fun, bouncy, boisterous, etc etc
But... that's how I present myself to others. When I started looking deeper inside myself I found other things. Things shaped and warped by all the things I've gone through. And it wasn't as ... pretty. There were some darker parts of it. But there was also some things I was proud of.

So the Osprey. It's a proud bird. It's intelligent, persistent, dedicated. But it is also a little cold. It has to be. Analytical. A hunter. It has to know how to get through the shit life throws at you and just shrug it off. The thing that really struck a cord with me though was that it's bullied. It's actually bullied by other, larger birds. And it's alone. The Osprey is the only species in it's family. If you go down the evolutionary line they branch off and are separate from all the other birds. So I connected to it through that ... quite a bit. I understood what it was like to feel alone and alienated, to be pushed around.

And we both knew the joy of pushing back.

I connected with it. And there's more than that. Some of it can't even be described. That's when you know you found the right animal. When you can describe some of the choices and reasons why it fits, but also when you can't.

I hope that helps :3

I named her Ariadnê. It's Greek for "utterly pure".
The traditional spelling, which I like to write her name in is: Αριαδνη
