Yes, but walking around with only a magikarp while everyone's picking out their favorite killing machine... The objective would be to get my rear handed to me repeatedly.

Mine's not so much a killer, as I just think the lil' guys are "cute". Though yes, I understand. Maybe your magikarp was luck enough to have flail or tackle as an egg move?

True. I don't remember using mine much in the water gyms. That's why I had my pikachu. But I was also so over-leveled that I could do pretty much whatever at that point.

Fighting Misty at, or around the same pokemon level... Oh god, I remember the pain...

Now, if you had a Venasaur by then, then you certainly over trained. Being who I am, I always did it with pokemon weaker then her own!

Technically there were wild pokemon, but they were more realistic. they hid in places those kinds of pokemon would hide.

I see no reason to object to egg moves, I suppose I'm just afraid that something bad may come of it. I know I would certainly be wary of a Dragon Rushing Swablu.
